Ondo guber: PDP urges door-to-door campaign for Jegede, Mafo

As the citizens await the verdict of the Appeal Court Panel, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged its members to begin a door-to-door campaign for Mr. Eyitayo Jegede and his running mate, John Mafo.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Banji Okunomo, who spoke in Abuja, said this was the right time for members to propagate the “Eyi-Mafo Agenda.”

“We assure our teeming members and supporters that victory is very near. Opportunities abound for all parties to ventilate their own sides in this dispute over who is the authentic PDP’s candidate,” he said.

He urged them not to be discouraged by the replacement of Jegede with Jimoh Ibrahim as the party’s candidate, adding that Jegede would get justice at the appellate court.

Okunomo appealed to members to engage in aggressive and more extensive campaigns across the 3009 units and 302 wards across the state.

He said: “Let us remain hopeful that we would be vindicated, as judgment is being reserved in the matter at the Court of Appeal.

“The parties in the dispute, having come before a court of higher jurisdiction, were hopeful that the windows of escape which allegedly allowed for impunity at the lower court had been shut.
“With the closure of hearing at the Court of Appeal yesterday, the final judgment on the matter is expected any moment from now.

“In view of the nearness of the election, which is only a few days from now, all members are directed to intensify their campaigns, so that God willing, our party shall win the election.
